Hackers Against Hate is a non-profit where we advocate for total inclusivity in the information security field. No one should be discriminated against based on their sexual orientation, gender identity, race, religion, age, or background.

About

Hackers Against Hate was created for the ultimate purpose of removing hate and prejudice from the information security field.

This idea to bring these topics to light came when I experienced a series of discussion threads on Twitter of several women being spoken down to and just disregarded only because they are women. As I looked into this I came across more and more hate against people of color, sexual and gender identities, and felt compelled to do something about it. This advocacy group is the result of that.

Mission

However, due to this vitriol existing, there are far too many who have been forced to hide who they are, refrain from speaking out and experience feelings of shame or guilt just for being who they are.

Our mission is to bring awareness to the community that these issues exist and that actions need to be taken. We want to give a voice to those who are fearful of retaliation. A "hacker" is and always has been a genderless, sexless, raceless term. There is no reason why anyone should be excluded from feeling they are part of this community.
